The Marine Aid Kit is a group project developed during a course in 'Design for eco-social futures' at Malmö University. In this project we worked with a local Marine Education Center as our stakeholder and the goal was to develop design concepts that could support efforts to increase ocean literacy. For our concept we worked with speculative design and developed an emergency flood kit intended to support and save marine lives rather than human lives. This concept was visualised in the form of the brochure "When the flood comes", drawing inspiration from the brochure "In case of crisis or war" from MSB. Our intention was to post this brochure to local citizens as a form of guerrilla marketing, letting it prompt reflections about how marine life is affected by extreme weather.
In this project we utilised a cultural probe and a workshop as research methods. The graphic design and layout was made by me using Affinity Designer and Publisher, but the illustrations and text were created by other team members.
